Workshop Publications

On March 2, 2007, the Capitol Area Development Authority (CADA) hosted their annual board workshop at Empire Events Center. The workshop focused on CADA's Draft R Street Area Implementation Plan, which will guide the development and redevelopment activities for CADA's portion of the R Street Corridor between 9th to 19th Streets.

The scope of the plan includes: an analysis of existing conditions, specific legislative mandates that CADA must adhere to, goals for the area that build off past planning activities, affordable housing programs, strategies for attracting private investment and CADA's plan for structuring financing of public improvements.

The CADA Board reviewed the draft R Street Implementation Plan. Here is the summary of comments by the Board and area stakeholders:

CADA staff will be incorporating the workshop comments into the draft Implementation Plan and then begin environmental analysis of the document. The analysis will take up to 8 months to complete.

For more information, contact Todd Leon, R Street Development Manager.
